Ok, so I have a lot to catch you up on. Namely, May, June, and July. For the sake of not boring you to death with a novel, I'm going to update today (May), tomorrow (June) and either Friday or Sunday (July). So, here goes!
My fourth and final internship ended on a good note. Close to 85% of the patient population that I saw there was adults with developmental disabilities. (Hindsight's 20-20 and I miss that population now.) I really grew as a professional at this site.
Sometime in late April / early May I ORDERED MY JEEP!!!
With May came GRADUATION! Finally, after 7 long years of college, I AM DONE! My family was all here (except my one Grandma who was sick at the time.) When I say family, I mean: Mom, Dad, Kristen, Jennifer, Jen, Vince, Erin, Tera, and Treye - my family. It was definitely bitter-sweet, having Jen, Vince, and Erin here ... that's probably going to be the last time the four of us are all together in Buffalo - the birthplace of our friendship! Graduation night was complete with a dinner at Froghair and then ... Finnen's hosting the one and only ROUTE 66! For anyone who does not know who Route 66 is, they are a fabulous cover band, and the key board-ist is also the Gross Anatomy professor at Daemen. They not only sound fabulous, but they are a lot of fun to watch as well. Thank you, Vince, for driving me home that night!
I took a few days off after graduation, but I can't sit still for long. Within a matter of days, I was working with my temporary license in Niagara Falls, NY. I was, and still am, happy to be there! I am reminded daily why I love the geriatric population.
I started studying for my boards ... date TBA.
I am going home occasionally and each time I'm home, Jennifer seems to grow more and more ... I swear Kristen's feeding her Miracle Grow!
More to come tomorrow for the month of June :)
Have a great day, everyone!
Julie :)
